• To promote responsible ownership, goodwill and friendship among all Samoyed owners and fanciers in the Greater Kansas City area.

• To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of conformation excellence by which the Samoyed shall be judged.

• To encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Samoyeds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

• To conduct sanctioned matches and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.

• To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed, and to encourage good sportsmanship during competition at dog shows and obedience trials.

 

Club activities have included:

• Club meetings and educational programs

• Publication of HEARTbeats, the official newsletter of the Heart of America Samoyed Club

• Occasional obedience training and conformation handing classes

• Annual AKC Licensed Specialty Shows and Sweepstakes

• Participation in parades and other local events

 

The HOASC also acts as a resource
for Samoyed owners and fanciers.

We provide interested individuals with names of responsible breeders, try to help find new homes for orphaned or abused Sams, and offer information regarding grooming and care of Sammies.

 

The HOASC is affiliated with the
Samoyed Club of America (SCA).

Each year, an official Club liaison is appointed to keep HOASC Members informed of issues affecting the Samoyed. This person also provides the SCA with periodic updates about what is happening in the Greater Kansas City area.
